William Tecumseh Sherman

William Tecumseh Sherman (February 8, 1820 – February 14, 1891) was an American soldier, businessman, educator, and author. He served as a general in the Union Army during the American Civil War (1861–65), for which he received recognition for his outstanding command of military strategy as well as criticism for the harshness of the scorched earth policies he implemented in conducting total war against the Confederate States. © 2015 Arlequin Photographie

Gapstow Bridge

Of course, I had a list with me that I had made to wouldn't miss a thing. I threw it away after a day. But that list also included Gapstow Bridge and The Pond. I had seen both once in an old love movie whose title I don't remember. It must be from the time of Audrey Hepburn, Grace Kelly, Rock Hudson, Cary Grant etc. © 2015 Arlequin Photographie

Central Park

November 2015 was very warm, not only in Europe, but also in New York. And, of course, I was dressed too warm. Although I was first beaten and impressed by this city, I was first drawn to Central Park - perhaps because it was on the way. And before anyone asks: No, I don't know this person, but I found that she fit well into the picture. :-) © 2015 Arlequin Photographie

Broadway - On the way to Time Square

16 Nov 2015 8 2 204
Of course, if you are in Manhattan for the first time, Time Square is at the top of the list. Don't worry, it will get relative over time. At the latest after the second visit I asked myself: "What the fuck am I doing here anyway? But Time Square is in a constant state of change, which of course doesn't really strike you within a few years. © 2015 Arlequin Photographie

School Of Rock

16 Nov 2015 7 208
No, it's not a school you go to if you want to be a rock star. But I don't know anything about musicals either. Here in the Winter Garden Theatre the musical "School of Rock" was shown in 2015, a rock musical with music by Andrew Lloyd Webber, lyrics by Glenn Slater and a book by Julian Fellowes. Based on the 2003 film of the same name, written by Mike White, the musical follows Dewey Finn, an out-of-work rock singer and guitarist who pretends to be a substitute teacher at a prestigious prep school. Notice the way people dress. It was really very warm in the middle of November 2015. © 2015 Arlequin Photographie

Father Francis D. Duffy Statue and Duffy Square

16 Nov 2015 6 181
Duffy Square is the northern triangle of Times Square. It is located between 46th and 47th Streets, Broadway and Seventh Avenue. In November 2015, most of Duffy Square was a construction site. I guess this would not be possible in summer due to the high number of tourists. By the way: In Manhattan, most roads are either horizontal or vertical. They are called horizontal "Streets", vertical "Avenues". The 5th Avenue forms an axis. To the left of the 5th Ave. the streets get the addition "West", to the right "East", e.g.. W 47th St. and E 47th St. The principle is simple, you don't really need a city map. perhaps just for a brief orientation. One of the few exceptions is the Broadway. It follows an old trail of the Native American inhabitants. Whenever the Broadway crosses an avenue at an acute angle, a so-called square is created: Duffy Square (7th Ave.), Time Square(7th Ave.), Herald Square (6th Ave.), Madison Square (5th Ave.), Union Square (4th Ave.). © 2015 Arlequin Photographie

A new love :-)

Coffee is very important in my life. After Time Square, near Bryant Park, I first met Blue Stone Lane, an Australian-inspired coffee shop, café & lifestyle brand. When I come to New York City today, it's one of my first ways to Bluestone Lane. Bluestone Lane Coffee is influenced from the renowned coffee culture hub of Melbourne Australia, where premium coffee is a way of life. bluestonelane.com/cafe-and-coffee-shop-locations/?shop-sort=nearest&view-all=0&lat=49.855197019999984&lng=5.946713879999998 © 2015 Arlequin Photographie
