Zion Canyon National Park, Utah - Weeping Rock Alcove

Zion Canyon National Park, Utah - Weeping Rock Alcove
DAY 4
SAT 29 SEPT 2012

Weeping Rock is a hollowed-out ledge up in the sandstone cliffs where water gently cascades in droplets from the cliff walls above the ledge. The water originates from within the sandstone walls (hence the "weeping"). From here, you have wonderful views of the surrounding cliffs and valley floor below.

There are many weeping walls in Zion, but this one is easily accessible via a paved trail and culminates in a lookout area that was constructed under the alcove back in the early days of the park.
