Vom Waldvogel zum Gartenvogel
Die Amsel (Turdus merula) oder Schwarzdrossel ist eine Vogelart der Familie der Drosseln (Turdidae).
Fast jeder kennt sie: Amselmännchen sind schwarz und haben einen gelben Schnabel. Ihre Weibchen dagegen sind durchgehend schlicht braun gefärbt.
Vor etwa 150 Jahren war die Amsel noch ein eher scheuer Waldvogel. Doch heute erfreut sie uns in fast jedem Garten mit ihrem melodiösen und volltönenden Gesang. Dabei sitzt das Amselmännchen gerne auf einer Antenne, dem Hausdach, oder einem exponierten Baum. (Quelle: NABU)

Wen wundert es? Die zunehmende Verstädterung sowie die Zerstörung bzw. Reduzierung ihrer ursprünglichen Lebensräume "treibt" immer mehr Wildtiere (Füchse, Wildschweine, usw.) in den urbanen Raum. Dort finden sie zudem noch bessere Lebensbedingungen übers ganze Jahr verteilt.

Aber es ist auch schön die Vögel in unseren Gärten zu sehen - und ich freue mich, wenn es noch dunkel ist - aber der Morgen graut, und ich dann vom Gesang der Amsel geweckt werde. ...
