Nach einem alten englischen Brauch trägt die Braut blaue Schleifen in ihrem Hochzeitskleid und einen blauen Saphir am Verlobungsring. Der Brautstrauß enthält winzige Blüten von blauem Ehrenpreiß.

Ancora oggi, il colore blu è ancora considerato un colore di fedeltà, perché la fedeltà diventa evidente solo da lontano quando c' è la possibilità di infedeltà. Fiori blu come il dimenticarsi-me-non, viola o fedeltà maschile simboleggiano fedeltà. Secondo una vecchia usanza inglese, la sposa indossa nastri blu nell' abito da sposa e uno zaffiro blu sull' anello di fidanzamento. Il bouquet di mazzi da sposa contiene minuscoli fiori blu orgogliosi d' onore.
