Just outside the original and "old" city walls (to the left of this picture). This house is symptomatic of my love for medieval and classical architecture. I intend to post my pictures of these Swiss buildings using this forum. The most immediate explanation why so many were preserved is that Switzerland did not participate in the fighting in the second world war. Therefore, many many buildings survived. Actually they have to be conserved, and I found out, that sometimes, only the facade survives. And, some old substance is demolished. The material can then be reused for other projects to be conserved.
