a bit smaller...but impressive. When the level decreases because the water is drawn by the power plant, then the ice brakes and big pieces sit on the dam slope.

Ciao Adriana, d'inverno la strada è chiusa alla fine della piana di St. Nicolas, prima della gran scala e ci si deve arrivare a piedi con le ciaspole. Scusa se ho trovato il commento solo ora! Ciao

Hi Herb, thanks for that. Scuh blocks are about 1 meter thick and when there is no snow the scenario is even more surreal. The thick crust breaks in blocks sitting on the dam slope, as the water is depleted from the basin by the power plants.
