"Izumo Taisha Famous Goods" 出雲大社名物 俵まんぢう

"Izumo Taisha Famous Goods" 出雲大社名物 俵まんぢう

A shop on the street leading up to the 2nd torii in Izumo selling the shrine specialties.

俵まんぢう (たわらまんじゅう in today's Japanese), "tawara manjyu," translates as "Bale bun" (straw bun) and is a pastry in the shape of a bale (see the left side of the top sign) that is manufactured and sold at this Tawaraya store in Izumo City.
