Tabata Yoshi san (田畑ヨシさん) presenting her Story Board of the 1933 Tarou Tsunami 太郎 岩手
The "unsinkable Mrs. Tabata" gave many presentations especially to the children of the town of Tarou. Some learned her lessons such as Haroki-san, who was mending his nets in the port area when the 11 March earthquake occurred. He immediately dropped everything and went into town where he and his wife headed uphill and watched the traffic jam in town below get inundated as the water poured over the wall.

Her advice: Keep your shoes near your bed and leave everything behind at the first sign of an earthquake. A tsunami will be close behind.

She survived the recent tsunami but she now says she wants to move somewhere else having experienced two huge tsunamis in her lifetime.
