Very elaborate indeed!
Were you part of the controversy on flicker - where one group swore that these scrolled borders were always mementos of deceased people and never just decorative, and the other group which agreed they were sometimes used for memorials but that they were also decorative?
I remember it got quite heated. : )

Thanks, Deborah! I believe I missed most of the controversy, but I'd have to say that borders like this on cabinet cards and real photo postcards were probably used for both the living and the dead. Hope that's not too controversial. 8-)
