The 34.5-kv tower

The 34.5-kv tower
Here is the almost completed tower. It needs a couple of the support beams over the cross arm, the insulators added, and requires painting. Believe it or not it is strong enough to support a Mini Metals Greyhound Vistacruiser Bus balanced on top of it. I will refrain from trying a locomotive!

It is tempting to put that Stewart Models EMD F7 (to the right) up on top of the tower. However, I don't want to damage or destroy either one! Engineering students are familiar with strength of materials tests using model bridges. The tower is made of 1/16" Plastruct angle beams, and glued together with Plastruct Bondene.
