Stop Sign in the French Quarter

Stop Sign in the French Quarter
Stop signs in a historically French part of Edmonton displays both official languages. This is funny to me because when I was France I saw Stop signs that said Stop, not Arret.

This is not the stop sign that ends submissions for the week on the Saturday Self-challenge. The challenge for this week is "Find something red, shoot it, but then you change the image into black and white."

For Sight and Sound, "Stop in the Name of Love" en Francais. www.youtube.com/watch?v=2gNW6xsNHkw

kiiti, Roger Bennion, Ruebenkraut, Gillian Everett and 14 other people have particularly liked this photo

It is true. I just returned from France, never seen an "Arret"-sign. French seem to understand "Stop" very well (as long as it is white on RED!). So the French Quarter is frenchier than France?

Here, in Quebec, all the stop signs say "Arrêt" as a matter of law; and there is an office of government to enforce this. A wonderful use of tax payer's money.
