Popeye Village Popeye Village

Popeye Village 

Die Kulisse für den Film Popeye (Reg. Robert Altman) wurde nach langem Suchen in der felsigen Bucht "Anchor Bay" aufgebaut. 7 Monate dauerte der Aufbau. Das Holz für die bunt bemalten windschiefen Häuser in "Sweethaven" wurde eigens aus Kanada importiert. Der Film war ein Flop, das Dorf ist aber nett anzusehen;-)

ungenutzt nicht, denn das ganze Jahr kann es besichtigt werden. Restaurant und wunderschöne Badebucht werden genutzt und man wird durch Popeye Figuren musicalmäßig bespaßt;-) Wir hatten eine Exklusivorstellung. In die Häuser darf nicht gegangen , aber auf den Dächern kann rumgeturnt werden, was ich mir verkniffen habe.

I have nice memories about this place. I visited it about 8 years ago. At that time you could play in a "movie", which you were supposed to buy afterwards . It still looks the same today.
