Stein Ladle

Stein Ladle
A Stein Ladle from the Manuel Works at Whitecross, Stirlingshire. Ideally suited for ladle linings used for transferring hot metal from the pot room to casthouse furnace. A brick of great value, a brick with a high degree of mechanical strength, an admirable brick, a well-travelled brick, a buttress builder, a firm friend in a storm. The first and last brick of a huge empire,a brick messenger, a fine Scottish brick bringing Auld Lang Syne to the world, a true brick o’ kindness. Not just another brick in the wall.

chris baker, dolores666, John Linton, Yvonné Lizzy Bruní (HvidLiljer) and 3 other people have particularly liked this photo

The Scottish Connection conjures - for me - associations with that triumvirate of football greats: Jock Stein, Bill Shankly and Matt Busby. Never to be forgot.
