Ode

Ode
The great god Pan lifts his head
among stones and mountains:
stretches his goat-horns wide,
stares at you.

The great god Pan lifts his head,
shakes the olive trees silver and green,
sees through the knotted wood,
harvests the gold.

Steve Bucknell.

Not the most "happiest" fence I've ever seen - nevertheless belated HFF and a nice WE! ;-D

It is a handsome skull though. Love all the squiggly lines. HFF Steve!

Handsome is exactly the right word, Juleann, and the cranial suture lines are fascinating.

Rust and bones. Perfect for Halloween.

Not dark enough, though, Sarah. Greece too full of light for a good halloween scare. I should have brought it home with me. I could really scare the kids then, looming out of the dark in that!
