Reminds me of medieval inlays. So cool I'm going to go put on a sweater.

Thanks John, that's an interesting analogy. Maybe I was unconsciously influenced by a visit to Lindisfarne and looking at the illuminated Gospels where the first letter (initialis/initium) is richly decorated. Might try and find some gold and red to put in there, though that might be harder to find! It does look like a kind of twisted "A".

I like this a lot. And I guess the walk wasn't bad either.

Thanks Armando, Eliana, Dorofoto. The walk along this lane, which used to be quiet and overgrown, has suddenly changed. The base of a new cycle-way was being laid. The diggers had dragged up shards of pottery and rusted iron from the moved earth. I collected a few and put them down quickly into the frame of this old drain cover. I didn't want to linger there because people were passing, and I was a little shy with my strange collecting habits and strange arranging ritual. I don't want to alarm the good people of Stocksbridge! So this arrangement is pretty much a work of chance.

I'll go back in a week or so and see what has happened to it.

Reminds me on the "event images" (don´t know if this is the right translation) by Daniel Spoerri. It´s like freezing a life sequenze.

Many, many thanks, Sabine. I didn't know of his work and it looks fascinating. And he produces writing related to it too! Lots to look at, read, and look for inspiration in.
