Der Mann von Lady Gregory hatte eine Schwäche für exotische Bäume und um die Jahrhundertwende (so ca. 1890) etliche nicht heimische Bäume angepflanzt. Nachdem das Anwesen in den 20er Jahren des letzten Jahrhunderts an den Staat verkauft wurde, sind leider viele dieser Exoten der Axt zum Opfer gefallen. Schade! Aber einige haben überlebt, wie diese hier.

Sich selbst heilende Bäume. Bei sowas muss ich immer an die Vorlesungen bei Claus Mattheck denken. Schau Dir dessen Arbeiten mal an, könnte Dich interessieren, ist superinteressant.
