Orange balsam, like Himalayan balsam, is an invader that has become established in the wild throughout south-east England. This one was found growing on the banks of the River Thames at Teddington. I find its flowers stunningly beautiful and from what I've been able to find out it is less of a threat to native fauna than its Himalayan cousin. Providing this is the case, it looks to be a welcome addition.
