great landscape shot mate, just one thing, the poles are they drift nets for salmon fishing do you know... I have seen the same things set up on rivers elsewhere in the country.

Thanks Derek. I think they just mark the river channel for navigation. The Mersey isn't exactly a salmon fishing hotspot!
