Private Conway assists the township of Cardwell cleaning the Cardwell Museum of fallen trees, debris and sheets of metal after Cyclone Yasi tore through the town.

Chief of Army, Lieutenant General Ken Gillespie, visits soldiers working in Cardwell during Operation Yasi Assist.

Soldiers from 1st Battalion Royal Australian Regiment and 3rd Combat Engineer Regiment were deployed into Cardwell the day after Tropical Cyclone Yasi and have been working there ever since.

The Diggers have been clearing access to critical infrastructure, making public space safe and helping people who are unable to help themselves clear their properties of debris.
