Mark Twain, de son vrai nom Samuel Langhorne Clemens, né le 30 novembre 1835 à Florida, Missouri (en) dans le Missouri (États-Unis) et mort le 21 avril 1910 à Redding, Connecticut (États-Unis), est un écrivain, essayiste et humoriste américain.

Après avoir fait une carrière de militaire, été imprimeur et journaliste chez les mineurs du Nevada, il se fait connaître par son roman Les Aventures de Tom Sawyer (1876) et sa suite, Les Aventures de Huckleberry Finn (1885).

Gibson House, also known as The Mark Twain Manor, is a historic home located at Jamestown, Mercer County, Pennsylvania. It was built in 1855, and is a two-story, square brick residence with a hipped roof and central cupola. The design displays elements of the Greek Revival, Italianate, and Georgian styles. Also on the property is a contributing carriage house. The house was converted to restaurant use in the mid 1950's, and is now owned by a community foundation.[2]

It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1978
