Vistascreen 3D Viewer 1955-1961

Vistascreen 3D Viewer 1955-1961
The Vistascreen 3D stereoscopic viewer was manufactured from 1955 to 1961. They were priced at 1/6d (7.5p today), and a pack of stereo cards cost 2/6d (12.5p). Weetabix ran a promotion selling the viewers by post direct from the factory, with cards being enclosed in Weetabix packs. The Weetabix version was in red plastic instead of the usual ivory colour, and had "Weetabix" stamped on the front. As a child I had one of these promotional models, but as I was a twin, it cost my parents three shillings!

This one is stamped on the front "The Cheddar Caves, Somerset", presumably another promotion, for a souvenir shop at Cheddar. I assume it would have had views of Cheddar Caves included, but these are missing and there is a set of cards entitled "Shakespeare's Birthplace - Series C.36".
