The White Hart, Aylesbury End, Beaconsfield April 1984

The White Hart, Aylesbury End, Beaconsfield April 1984
The White Hart, taken just before we left Beaconsfield for a posting to Berlin.

The White Hart was the author GK Chesterton's regular, having stayed there with his wife and they deciding to move to Beaconsfield. Whilst I was on my course, his chair was preserved in the lounge bar, I have no reason to believe it is not still there.

Was this the inspiration for Arthur C. Clarke's "White Hart" stories?

No, it's a very common pub name here. Arthur C Clarke's pub is based on one in London frequented by Sci-Fi writers.
