Homage to Wet Film, HQ 1 (UK) Armoured Division, Verden, Germany 1972

Homage to Wet Film, HQ 1 (UK) Armoured Division, Verden, Germany 1972
A homage to wet film (and my youth!) Divisional intelligence cells had a Royal Army Ordnance Corps photographer attached to them in those days. Having dabbled in photography from an early age, I seized the opportunity to assist him and gain access to the darkroom, in the bowels of the HQ. I learned a lot from him, such as buying in papers and chemicals and keeping the receipts. Then when you used MOD materials for running off coverage of private functions such as mess dinners, and selling the prints, if anyone came snooping around you had "proof" you were using your own materials.

I still have one of those film tanks laying about in the backroom.

I've still got the instruction leaflet for my Paterson developing tank, inherited from my older brother in the early 1960s, but the tank itself seems to have gone AWOL.
