Orangerie, Schloss Sanssouci, Potsdam 10 November 2005
The elaborate cupola on the Orangerie at Schloss Sanssouci, Frederick the Great's summer palace designed by Knobelsdorff and built 1745-1747. It was designed along the lines of Versailles, but on a much smaller scale, as a retreat from affairs of state for Frederick, hence the name meaning "carefree".
