White Dove, Tintern Abbey, Tintern, Monmouthshire 17 July 2015

White Dove, Tintern Abbey, Tintern, Monmouthshire 17 July 2015
This white dove didn't mind my intrusion into her privacy in the least - probably used to grockles! "Back in the day" when the abbey was in use, she would probably have been kept there for food.

Tintern Abbey was founded in 1131 by Sir Walter fitz Richard of Clare, the second Cistercian Abbey in Britain. It was destroyed during the Dissolution of the Monasteries in the 16th Century, by Henry VIII. Today an inspired ruin in the Wye Valley, it has inspired the likes of Wordsworth and Turner.
