An eclectic mix of sunbathers - one man is sporting a superb straw boater, and I can also see a soldier's peaked cap . . . the beach must have attracted people from all walks of life. It probably had a good ice cream stall, I suppose . . .

I adore this photograph, which I believe was formerly posted on the GHP Group. The soft focus adds a dream-like quality to the subject, I think.
