WP1914 WPG - PARADE ON MAIN STREET (MEN WITH SASHES)

WP1914 WPG - PARADE ON MAIN STREET (MEN WITH SASHES)
Date: Posted 1925
Publisher / Photographer: Unidentified

The Breen Motor Company building in this image is still in use at 245 Main Street. It was built in 1922 and helps to date this image. The building to the south has a large vertical sign (not legible) and a small horizontal sign that appears to read "Oakland". It is possible that it was advertising the Oakland Automobile that was in production until the early 30s - and that the building housed another automobile dealership. The building on the right is identified as the "Canadian National Land Settlement Association" and is the former Industrial Building at Main & Water.

The men in the parade all have a 5-pointed star on their sashes.

Thanks to M. Wroniak's post (below), image can be dated as post 1923.
