In its current form it mainly dates from 1404-1594, the spire was never finished. In April 1945 St.Georgen was badly damaged by bombs and deteriorated further over the years. After the northern transsept collapsed in 1990, the church underwent extensive stabilization, repair and reconstruction which was finished in 2010.
