Nothofagus pumilio (PiP)
Macro Mondays 2.0: Natürliche Strukturen von Holzoberflächen (03.07.17)
Gallbildung an Nothofagus pumilio (Lenga-Südbuche).
Gall formation on Nothofagus pumilio (Lenga) caused by parasitic fungus Cyttaria hariotii. This mushroom was a staple food eaten raw by Patagonian indigenous people and is commonly called Pan del Indio (Indian's bread) or Llao Llao in the Mapuche language. The note shows the fungi.
