Stuttgart Süd vom Weißenburgpark

Stuttgart Süd vom Weißenburgpark
The Sunday Challenge (TSC): a place you love
Because Stuttgart is surrounded by hills it tends to get very stifling in the heat. Weißenburgpark is higher up and affords a bit of fresh(er) air and views of the city. The hill in the first note (Karlshöhe) is another local favourite.

is this your home city, Gudrun? I agree, it must be nice to get into the hills in summer. It's great that the viewpoints are free of too many leaves.
I must sort out some TSC photos.

Thanks a lot, Amelia! Yes, that's where I live- a few streets up from the bottom of the valley. The areas higher up are incredibly expensive, you wouldn't get a house (an older one) for under 1 million Euro, most go for much more.

In some ways it must be a bit like Bergen, except for the climate and the lack of sea. In fact - not much like Bergen at all. ;-)

Gudrun club has replied to Amelia club
One thing we have in common with Bergen is a funicular:-) And we even have a cable car! All because of the topograhy...

So, it is a "hot" place in the summer =)

Too hot for my taste- if I had money I'd have a second home somewhere in the mountains or by the sea;-)

Quite a shot ... how lovely and have to agree with Judith, thought of Florence at first glance. :)

Thanks a lot, Chris! Stuttgart is not quite Florence but the climate is heading that way;-)
I'm following the IMA.group closely and have put up the news on my latest photo. My club subscription runs until Nov 18, so I'll definitely stay here:-)

wow! what a beautiful city scene. I haven't seen this many houses in the last 10 years let alone in one spot.

Thank you, Wendi! At times (especially when it's as hot as it was last week) I wish I was in a place like Yukon:-) But generally it's good to have everything you need within walking distance.

Lovely views of Stuttgart, Gudrun. So good that the hillsides remain mainly undeveloped.

Many thanks, George! The wooded hills are needed to get some fresh air into town- if property developers could do as they liked it would all be built up...

So hab ich oberhalb Florenz getanden; Gudrun: Ein ähnlich schöner Anblick. Aber bei fast 40°C bin ich nicht in die Brafpfanne hinabgestiegen.

Gudrun club has replied to Ruesterstaude club
Besten Dank, Volker! Ah ja, Piazzale Michelangelo:-) Mit Florenz können wir nicht mithalten, aber Bratpfanne kannst du im Stuttgarter Kessel auch erleben.

Nice view of the city Gudrun. Looks like the park is a good height above the city - good exercise to walk up there ;-)

Gudrun club has replied to Graham Chance club
Thanks, Graham! Wherever you go in Stuttgart you very soon end up going uphill, there are more than 400 flights of steps in town;-)

Less keen on the prospect of stifling heat than I am this series of fabulous images Gudrun ... sounds like I'll need to visit in the winter! ;)
Gudrun club has replied to autofantasia club
Thanks a lot, Paul! The problem about winter is the pollution, the smog often is trapped down in the valley by inversion weather. A few years ago we hardly saw the sun all winter.-(
Early spring and late autumn can be nice though:-)
