Mange takk, Gisela! Das war ein toller Ort für Nordlichter, es gab Plattformen über den Felsen am Wasser, wo man sich gut mit Stativ aufstellen konnte.

...das muss ja ein phänominales Erlebnis gewesen sein...HFF...

Not many foks, if any, will be able to compete with this for HFF, Gudrun. I am delighted to see the aurora and of course the fence, and even the stars are there.

Thanks a lot, Amelia! I've taken hundreds of aurora photos and some have a fence in them;-) The stars are the sure sign it is an aurora, even if you don't see the green with naked eyes- clouds wouldn't let the stars shine through;-)

Schönen Dank, Dida! Naja, ich hatte ja schon einige sehr ähnliche Fotos im Kasten und es bewegte sich gerade nicht super viel... Am Anfang fotografiert man noch jeden grünen Schimmer, aber mit der Zeit wird man "schleckig";-)

One of your best auroras, I think! The "pile of the light" is so thick... and I like also the light in foreground and the stars behind. And I still regret ipernity has no zoom in feature.

BTW, I am back here... and slowly catching up. It's hard to believe what Google has done with Panoramio (they've turned it into the perfectly stinking corpse).

Yes, I also miss the zoom a bit but that's about the only thing!
I manually deleted not only my last few Pano photos but also everything in Google photos - they migrated my Picasa albums but not the extra information that was in there... sounds familiar, doesn't it? Another stinking corpse. Google are welcome to all the empty grey squares where deleted photos used to be;-)

Engineers in Google think they can (oh they SHOULD) replace user provided info with their A.I. In fact, "tag" search works amazingly good in Google Photos. Sometimes it makes mistake and displays summer beach with sand when searching for "snow" or sheep instead of dog... but it's only a fine extension to the tags and info provided by users.

They completely missed the fact users can have their private system of tags, serving to them.

BTW, I am impressed what they've done to drove Panoramio users away. It is not reduced version of Panoramio (with "edit functions" disabled, to make the site "read only" for one year...). It is completely re-implemented site, with layout resembling acrylic Panoramio, but without almost all Panoramio functionality. Perhaps it was done as "usability test" of some new Google coder. They even remove internal page variables like PhotoID, so it cannot be used in bookmarklets (go to next page, show original jpg).

I am disgusted.

I fell so sorry to see the "holes" in GE after your photos. And more sorry when all your comment disappeared from my photos. But soon afterwards and surprisingly - all comments were gone! So...

Maybe they were being just kind and wanted to show users that this time there was no hope of clinging on (irony)... I think there cannot be enough grey squares so that businesses using the API get their pages made useless and start getting angry at Google. The fewer decent photos stay at GM the better:-)
