Grafarlandaá
Ford through Grafarlandaá on Highland road F88 (Öskjuleið). See inset photo for driving instructions;-)
Grafarlandaà is a spring fed river so it's not as unpredictable as glacial rivers where fords can get impassible on sunny days due to increased melt.
Furt durch den Fluss Grafarlandaá auf der F88 (Öskjuleið). Grafarlandaá entspringt aus Quellen in der Lava und ist deshalb weniger unberechenbar als Gletscherflüsse, wo im Laufe von sonnigen Tagen die Furten oft unpassierbar werden. Das PiP zeigt Instruktionen zum korrekten Queren des Flusses inklusive Notfallnummer;-)

Gudrun club has replied to ©UdoSm clubGanz unkompliziert ist das nicht immer, da müssen öfters steckengebliebene Touris aus dem Fluss geschleppt werden....Wenn sie dann noch im PKW erwischt werden, wird's richtig teuer. Miet-PKWs sind gar nicht erlaubt, auch nicht mit Allrad- und sind auch nicht versichert. Selbst 4x4 Miet-Jeeps sind bei Schäden am Unterboden nicht versichert.

Sonst besteht die Gefahr, dass es durch die Bugwelle nicht nur das Nummernschild abreißt, sondern dass, wenn Du keinen Ansaugschnorchel am Auto hast, Wasser in den Motor kommt -> Reise zu Ende.
