L'Ancresse Bay

L'Ancresse Bay
L'Ancresse Bay is a large sandy bay in the north of Guernsey which is popular with both swimmers and surfers in summer. Because the land is flat it was heavily fortified with Martello towers all around the bay, forts and batteries on the headlands and a German anti tank wall. Behind the bay is Ancresse common with its golf course and megalithic tombs.

Herzlichen Dank, Lutz! Diese spezielle Duftmarke hatte ich im Rücken, die Befestigungen im Bild stammen aus napoleonischen Zeiten;-)

Die Betonbefestigungen sind bei Hunden durchaus beliebt;-) Aber es gibt genügend Fusswege, wo es noch interessanter ist (Karnickel aufscheuchen).
Als Tourist kannst du keinen Hund bringen wegen Quarantäne-Gesetzgebung...

Danke vielmals, Erhard! Da wurde schon vor den Deutschen ziemlich befestigt, die Inseln haben halt eine strategische Lage.... Es gibt genügend Insulaner, die die Bunker pflegen und erhalten!
