And this pack mule affair where they un-hitch all their gear, mix them up, then blow a whistle to get them repacked.

Mule mayhem ensues.

Several teams repacked and racing to the finish line. It was pretty impressive.

Coming back north on 395 we detoured through Antelope Valley near Mammoth, CA. We were looking for hot springs and didn't really find any good ones, but stumbled on this amazing photo op of the Sierras, the sage, and a lone dirt road adding just a little perspective.
