LABAUME BATIE 

French protestants were obliged to leave cities and villages during the sixteenth century to hide in some fortified caves like this one in Ardèche. I discovered it during a summer afternoon and explored the site. Small yellow crosses painted on the walls four centuries ago can be seen.
