Alley in Sion
Where will it lead to ? This is my own question as I just arrived on Ipernity. Thanks for visiting and sharing your own pictures from here and there.
Window with a view
over the Lavaux vineyards above the Lake Léman in Switzerland. “I can't play bridge. I don't play tennis. All those things that people learn, and I admire, there hasn't seemed time for. But what there is time for is looking out the window. ” ― Alice Munro
In the vineyards
Souvenir d'un jour d'été dans les vignobles en terrasse du Lavaux, au-dessus du Lac Léman, encadré des Alpes suisses et françaises. Remembering a beautiful and hot Summer day in the terraced vineyards of Lavaux area. The Lake Léman is a link between the Swiss and French borders. This area is a Unesco World Heritage site. The wine produced there is ... you just have to taste it ;)
in front of the Cathedral of Our Lady of Sion. It is mainly built in Gothic style. However, the cloister and crypt date from the 12th century, and are built in Romanesque. For The Alphabet Site
A Table, warm and colorful, but empty. The terrace was closed on Sundays.
Even the parasol looked worn out under the hot sun of July ! Même le parasol a l'air "éteint" sous le chaud soleil de juillet !
Opening to the sky
A small blue window on the façade of an old sunburnt chalet in a mountain hamlet. What is there to be seen behind the curtain ? What are its inhabitants dreaming of when they look beyond the mountains ? “Rather than words comes the thought of high windows: The sun-comprehending glass, And beyond it, the deep blue air, that shows Nothing, and is nowhere, and is endless. “ Excerpts of a poem by Philip Larkin For The Alphabet Site
It fell about a month ago. I was in a postal bus driving up to the mountains. The landscape became white in a few hours. It was a lovely drive on an narrow alpine road. Today there is hardly any snow left unfortunately. Winter holidays start tomorrow and we are all hoping for a White Christmas. Maybe...
There is more snow today on my landscape and no gap in the sky as a promise of a blue sky. Pas de trouée dans mon ciel hivernal ce matin, pas de ciel bleu en perspective.
