Le Jet d'eau de Genève. Caractéristiques:
500 litres d'eau par seconde, sont projetés en l'air et portés à une hauteur de 140 mètres.
L'eau est expulsée de la buse à la vitesse de 200 km/h. Les deux groupes de pompage sont entraînés par des moteurs électriques de 500 kW, 2400 volts à 1500 tours/minute.
Douze projecteurs d'une puissance totale de 13,5 kW éclairent le Jet d'eau en fin de journée.
Propiété de SIG (Services Industriels de Genève) qui en assure l'exploitation, le Jet d'eau fut créé en 1891 et rénové en 1951.
Monument issu d'un élément naturel, le jet d'eau est soumis aux contraintes météorologiques, son fonctionnement peut être interrompu en cas de vent, d'intempéries ou de risque de gel. (Voir l'album "Geneva on Ice")

The Geneva "Jet d'Eau" (Fountain) Characteristics:
Every second, 500 liters of water are propelled into the air to a eight of 140 meters.
The water is ejected from the nozzle at a speed of 200 km/h. The two main pumps are driven by 500kW, 2400 volts electric motors rotating at 1500 round per minute.
After sunset, the spray is illuminated by twelve floodlights with a total power of 13,5 kW.
Property of SIG (Services Industriels de Genève) who is in charge of its maintenance, the Geneva "Jet d'eau" is operational since 1891 and was rénovated in 1951.
A monument derived from a natural element, the water jet is subject to weather constraints, its operation can be stopped in the even of winds, bad weather or risk of freezing (see "Geneva on ice" album).
