04-17 Twemlow Viaduct, Holmes Chapel, Cheshire
Spanning the river Dane between Holmes Chapel and Twemlow this viaduct is constructed of 23 arches each spanning 63 feet or so. Built in 1840 by G.W. Buck taking the line up to 105 feet above the river. It took ten years to build the viaduct and during that time the population of Holmes Chapel rose from 406 in 1831 to 1008 in 1841.
