Good photo (don't take it away!)
Your wonderful big tides. The first time I saw something like this, and it was in BC, I thought of the photos of tsunamis, where the water disappears out to the horizon before It comes back.

Hi Laurie!

What has been interesting to me during this past winter for 8 months while I was doing some househunting on basically the opposite shore of the Georgia Strait (B.C. Mainland) shown in the distance to the right in the photo was a completely different shoreline with weathered rocky outcroppings and rock/pebble strewn beaches which came across to me as almost devoid of waterfowl life compared to the large numbers of waterfowl that these sandy/muddy parts of the east shore of Vancouver Island attracts, particularly in the spring with the Herring spawn...........
