Greater Stitchwort

Greater Stitchwort
Hardy perennial also known as Wedding Cakes, Star of Bethlehem, Poor Man's Buttonholes, Adder's Spit, Pixy Flower and Daddy's Shirt Buttons. Large, white, starry flowers. The name Stitchwort derives from the use of the plant's leaves in infusions to treat stitch in the side. As it was also believed to be the plant of the Devil it was also known as Devil's Nightcap and Devil's Shirt Buttons.
