"Rocket Alpha" waves goodbye to Coventry

"Rocket Alpha" waves goodbye to Coventry
Douglas DC-3 (G-AMRA) known as "Rocket Alpha" as it was the fastest Dakota in the Air Atlantique fleet, is seen here waving goodbye with it's wings as it pulls out of a last flypast, and after 31 years at Coventry heads off to it's new home in Berlin where it will help to tell the story of the Berlin airlift in which it also took part alongside other types of aircraft ferrying 1.5 million tons of essential supplies in 274.000 flights over 315 days in 1948 and 1949, breaking the blockade being enforced by Soviet forces on the orders of Stalin.

I remember that bit of history at the time.

I hope that Ipernity builds up to what it has the capability to be, they seem a nice bunch.
