Teffont Evias
This is a little village in the Nadder valley of Wiltshire. The number of inhabitants is small, maybe 200 or so. Property is expensive. Amenities are few. I saw a church, a cemetery (above, on the hill), a posh hotel, and a sewage pumping station. There wasn't much activity even though the day was dry; I saw one person walking two dogs. I thought the place was rather bleak. Maybe the bit called 'Teffont Magna' has more to offer. However, I did not visit it.

Church Brass, Teffont St. Evias
Taken with a Canon EOS 20D on an overcast day in March,2014. This is a repeat posting following some processing to lighten and improve the clarity and luminance. The original was rather dark and moody, and hid a lot of the detail.

Teffont: St. Michael's Churchyard, Wiltshire
I photographed this at the 18mm end of an 18-55mm lens. In general, I prefer to stand off a bit from my subject, but occasionally it is satisfying to get up close and fill the frame with foreground interest. However, you can't really use this technique on strangers in the street. They tend to be unnerved by it, and rightly so. I turned down the saturation a bit; it seemed somehow inappropriate to make memorials to the departed vivid. I am beginning to think I overdo the saturation a bit generally, but the effect of Fuji Velvia is memorable.
