Leeds, Wortley Junction.

Leeds, Wortley Junction.
On a really grey foggy morning in February we see LMS 5MT 4-6-0 No 44826 passing Wortley Junction at Leeds with a Stourton to Carnforth train. The picture is taken from Wortley North signalbox where I worked at the time.

Thanks Angela I love the way the steam hangs between the wagons. I should never have taken the photo in those light conditions with 64ASA but it does prove that you shouldn't put the camera away when the sun goes in.

Thanks Jonathan, yes it was quite impressive all the signalboxes in the area closed three months after the photo was taken and slowly the number of arms reduced until at the end there were only two left.

Thanks Michael, the cold day helped with the smoke, I was lucky that it was a good fireman and the smoke was white as it helps to lighten the picture.
