Clover looper moth, Caenurgina crassiuscula
This was flitting around my perennial flower garden here in Vermont, I didn't know what it was initially, but iNaturalist has identified it as the clover looper moth..

Gloucester, a Bottled Spider
Gloucester, a Bottle…
I've been looking at Covell's "Moths of the Eastern United States" and the closest I can get is that I think it is a Noctuid moth in the subfamily Catocalinae.

I've been perusing the Peterson's Field Guide to Moths by D. Beadle and S. Leckie and the Mississippi Museum website of moth identification and certainly some of the genera in the Noctuid and Catacalinea have some similarities, but I haven't been able to locate one that looks really like it. But thanks for the suggestion; it's certainly closer than I was!

Not sure which moth since I'm not very familiar with your area and its fauna, but a gorgeous picture.
