Snub Fish. aka Deep Sea Tittle Tattle II. By all means applaud then, laud them, call them heroes, ask people to paint soppy, celebratory rainbows and donate £5 to the same NHS your and all administrations ever since Tony Blair’s PFIs* have been gutting. Please do. Indulge yourself in a bit of feel-good cant. As long as come pragmatic crunch time you stab them in the back. And may the next plague take you.
So say the Snub Fish. And if they say so, I say so, too.
Also, to reinforce the message, have a link to one of Martin Rawson’s latest:
And one from a nicely miffed NHS doctor, fed up to the back teeth with all this clappity-clappity-clap:
See, even the Guardian has its uses, as I’ve acknowledged before. 
* With the Telegraph’s blessing:

Steve Bucknell, * ઇઉ *, Bergfex and 2 other people have particularly liked this photo

Your graphics are consistently fab. I'm a bit confused though by an immigration bill theme accompanied by an otherwise perfectly valid commentary on the NHS and attitudes towards it.

Well, you know, it's all part of the same mentality & tactics: praise when convenient and abuse when wanted. Especially when it comes to foreigners (and/or other "undesirables"). The vast majority of the NHS support staff are migrants. And definitely NOT earning £26, 000 p.a. So today you cover them in rainbows and tomorrow you chuck them in the bin. Or deport them.
PS. Your praise for my doodles increases my will to live, laugh and generally be a pain in the neck. :-)

It really seems to be the same everywhere. :( It's just awful.
Fantastic, artistic-critical reflection, Dolores!

They did show a modicum of shame when they let “foreign” heath workers off the surcharges they were meant to pay for the privilege of propping our Health Service up.

Mmmmm ... I still don't trust them. They'll go back to it when nobody's paying attention. These guys (and girls, of course) have not only no shame, they have no notion of justice. They could look up "integrity" in the dictionary and still they would NOT understand the meaning, let alone the practice of it. They are the very pits, they are.
And thanks for the visit!
