Cologne - Zugweg

Cologne - Zugweg
Cologne is the fourth-largest city in Germany - and one of the oldest. A Germanic tribe, the Ubii, had a settlement here, this was named by the Romans "Oppidum Ubiorum". In 50 AD, the Romans founded "Colonia Claudia Ara Agrippinensium", the city then became the provincial capital of "Germania Inferior".

This large building complex is by far the nicest power plant I have ever seen. It was erected next to the waterworks "Severin I" (1885), that got extended by "Severin II", over a large underground water storage, that was completed in 1905.

The power plant, erected in a very historic style, seems to be a mixture between cathedral and castle.

The former "Boiler House" (1890/91) is embellished with an inscription, that reads (greek) "Kineitai Kai Rei Ta Panta" - "It gets moved and everything flows".
