Hitty Madge said 'you're hired'! No one has ever called her feminine before!

You're kidding! Look how sweet and girly she is! She reminds me of my Great Aunt Josephine. Just about the gentlest woman on the planet and boy could she bake! I adored her angel food cakes made from scratch with cherry frosting ....

Thank you so much - you have given me a little bit more confidence in her, although I love her anyway as she was my first ever carving. Love the description of your Great Aunt Josephine, I think that probably sums up Hitty Madge quite well. :-)

If Hitty Madge had fluffy silver/white hair and an apron, she could be mini Great Aunt Josephine!

Aunt Jo's bedroom was done up in pink floral wall paper and a four poster bed. She had a dressing table with a mirror where she would sit to put on her face powder and rouge. It was such a pretty table with an embroidered dresser scarf on it. Over that was her combs and brushes, face powder, powder puff, rouge and lipstick. She had a mirrored tray that held all these pretty little perfume bottles. She always had a light and delicate floral scent about her. I have her mirrored tray in my bedroom! She gave me a necklace that belonged to her from when she was a young woman. It is a delicate gold thing with bitty seed pearls and a coral tear drop. It was purchased in New York in 1910!

Oh I daren't let Hitty Madge read this, or she will be demanding a bedroom just like this! At the moment she has to make do with her travel pouch which is the closest to a bed any of the Hitty girls have got!

Your Aunt Josephine sounds wonderful!
