Columns and Arches Teguise Church

Columns and Arches Teguise Church
The Shot

This picture was taken inside the Church at Teguise, Lanzarote. This is an inland town which was originally the Capital. The Church does not look very special from outside but inside it has beautiful columns and arches and HDR is very good at bringing out the detail.

The picture was taken on a Tripod with a Sony A700 with a Sigma 10-20 wide angle zoom at 10 mm. 3 raw images 2EV spacing. Opened in Photoshop first and each image noise reduced with Noiseware Pro and saved as tiffs.

Photomatix

Outputted in Photomatix to detail enhancer. Click the Camera name top right for Exif details and the settings.

Photoshop

Topaz adjust used with my own settings to suit to bring back detail. Done with a duplicate layer and layer mask used to exclude some areas.

The -2EV image was brought in as a new layer and applied with a brush using a layer mask to the highlight areas.

Brightness contrast layer added and layer mask used to and applied with a brush to bring down highlight areas further.

General adjustments in levels and curves to enhance.

Vibrance layer increase 77 points.

Hue saturation layer yellows used and applied to some areas.

Noiseware Pro

Duplicate layer with mask to apply extra sharpening and contrast with amount 32 and radius 32 using Unsharp mask (Clarity Effect)

Filter, Lens correction, custom was used to correct verticals partly and then crop. The verticals were not fully straightened in order to retain the column on the right.
