Appreciation.

Appreciation.
A gauze bust by Paul Topen.

I consider this Art, rather than Page 3, and admired the work enough to pay through the nose for it.
It hangs in the guest bathroom. None of my guests, so far, have been offended by it, though my Great Aunt had a fit of hiccups. I hope none of my visitors here will be offended either. I have the utmost appreciation for natural beauty of all kinds, hence keeping my shirt on most of the time.

Nothing offensive about this mate...............it's stunning! Do you have a link where I can see more of his work..........I'm intrigued now? Didn't get much joy on Google.

Thanks Keith, for your reassurance. I'm thinking I screwed up with the name...it might be Paul Topin...I have to get into the loft and find the box it came in. All I know is the paper that came with it said he originally trained as an architect, and moved into art, producing various gauzes along these lines, besides whatever else. The gallery from whence it came had quite a few pieces by him, this being my (not really affordable) favourite. I don't have a link for either, having no luck on Google myself. Leave it with me and I'll see what I can do.

No problem mate.............I did wonder if you had the name right, there are quite a few Paul Tobins around but none that seem to fit the bill. Gauze seems a pretty unusual medium to work in. Don't bust a gut looking on my account though :)

Hi Keith. I put my deer-stalker on and lit the pipe and found it was PAUL TOPEN. (My loft hatch is smaller than it used to be, for some weird reason.) Look up shadowsculpture.com and you'll find his work there. Happy viewing!

Thanks for taking the trouble Sherlock! I've just bookmarked his site for a leisurely browse when I am more awake.........(on early shifts at the mo)!

It is a beautiful piece, Phill....worth the outlay.....
It is sensitive and skilled. It did not give me the hiccups...more a sense of envy and sadness for what the passing of time has done to my once not too bad bod!
I am a shirt on woman these days...
Have a good Sunday xxx
