Symbol of France

Symbol of France
Well, I bet you can't guess where I've been!

This is, of course, La Tour Eiffel, Paris, France, which has dominated the city's skyline since completion in 1889. At 324M (1,063 feet) high, it was the World's tallest building until 1930. It was hugely controversial when first built, and only intended to stand for 20 years. Several famous artists and writers, including Guy de Mauppasant and Victor Hugo were amongst it's detractors - though de Maupassant alledgedly ate lunch in the tower's restaraunt each day, because it was the only place in Paris from where the tower could not be seen....
Nowadays, of course, it is a much-loved icon, a symbol of France, visited by over six million visitors every year - in fact, it is the most visited paid monument in the World.
